NO EXTRA LEVIES, OGAMBA TELLS SCHOOL HEADS AS SCHOOLS REOPEN
BY PATIENCE SAMBA
Photo CourtseyAs schools have reopened today, Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has warned school heads against imposing extra levies or unauthorized fees on parents. The CS said no learner should be sent home over fees not approved by the Ministry of Education, noting that such practices burden parents and go against government policy. Ogamba stated that the ministry will deal firmly with any verified cases of misappropriation of resources and the illegal imposition of levies or fees, and it now remains to be seen whether the directive will be fully observed by school administrations across the country.
