Residents of Taita Taveta County are set to benefit from improved access to quality healthcare following the dissemination of new research findings on the attraction and retention of health workers in rural and hard to reach areas. The study is expected to guide policy decisions that will strengthen staffing levels, upgrade health infrastructure and improve emergency and referral systems, ensuring consistent service delivery across the county. By addressing challenges such as poor working conditions, limited incentives and inadequate facilities, the county aims to motivate health workers to remain in rural postings, reducing frequent staff shortages and service interruptions. This will enhance timely medical care, improve patient outcomes and bring essential health services closer tok communities that have long struggled with limited access.
